I seek soothing clarity in things I feel powerless at times. Truth and justice are confused by fake everything and important matters deserve addressing. So much is urgent.

Alfonso Muñoz Alma is based in Santurce, the center of contemporary art in Puerto Rico and home of renowned Santurce es Ley Art Fest, where he occasionally partakes. He also spends several months a year in London, where he is part of A&A, an art and design duo with Alasdair Brown. Together creating outdoor and indoor Installations for events, venues and resorts since 2017. Muñoz expresses himself with painting, photography and installations predominantly addressing women, queer, political and environmental issues. Recycling material is a frequent feature of these installations.

In 2005, the artist was selected for the S Files Biennial in New York at Museo Del Barrio for his work with doll photography.

In 2008, he was the recipient of the New York Urban Artist Fellowship.

In 2009 he took part in Salpica, a cultural exchange of 20 artists with ITD in Amherst, MA with a grant from the United States Department of Cultural Affairs.

In 2024, a documentary about the artist: ”A Doll’s House” was produced.
