Getting to CENTRO

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

Subway: The closest subway stations are the 6 train on 116th and Lexington and the 6 train on 125th and Lexington. Each station is approximately a 5–10 minute walk away from CENTRO en El Barrio. CENTRO is located on the corner of 119th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Train: The closest Metro-North station is on 125th and Park Avenue and is approximately a 10 minute walk from CENTRO en El Barrio.

Bus:

To/from Queens: M60+ at E 125th St + 2nd Ave

To/from The Bronx: M125 at E 125th St & 3rd Ave

PARKING:

There is metered street parking available in front of the building. There are also unmetered parking spots on side streets next to the building, subject to signage.

If you would like to park your car in a lot, the closest lots are:

  • 210 E. 121st Street
  • 1481 5th Ave.
  • 158 E. 108th Street

Building Info

SECURITY:

When you arrive, you may be asked by Hunter College security to provide your name and show your ID. This is part of campus safety policy.

ACCESSIBILITY:

The Silberman School of Social Work is equipped with automatic doors, ramps, elevators, and accessible bathroom stalls.

ELEVATORS:

The Silberman School of Social Work has two elevators on each floor. Our Library Reading Room and the CENTRO Gallery are located on the first floor of the building.

RESTROOMS:

Bathrooms are available to our guests on each floor of the building. Each bathroom has handicap accessible stalls. Guests may use the bathrooms that best affirm their gender identity.
