Judith Sierra-Rivera is Associate Professor of Spanish and Latina/o Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Her research and teaching center on anti-colonialism and the dynamics between race, gender, sexuality, and emotions. She is the author of Affective Intellectuals and the Space of Catastrophe in the Americas (Ohio State University, 2018). Currently, she is working on a manuscript, A Black Hero for Puerto Rican Dignity: Pedro Albizu Campos and the Women Who Made Him, a cultural study of women’s representations of the nationalist leader as a Black hero and themselves as keepers of Puerto Rican dignity.
