CENTRO offers a range of opportunities for community members, organizations, students, educators, and cultural institutions to connect with Puerto Rican history, research, archives, programs, and resources.
Community Engagement
CENTRO participates in community events, delivers presentations, and hosts information tables in communities throughout the Diaspora and Puerto Rico. These activities help introduce the public to CENTRO’s mission, programs, publications, research, archives, and other resources. To invite CENTRO to present or table at an event, email centrofl@hunter.cuny.edu
CENTRO collaborates with public and private institutions, community-based organizations, and civic and cultural leaders to share resources and co-create community-driven programs and projects. Partnership opportunities are developed in alignment with CENTRO’s annual Rooted + Relational theme. Organizations and individuals interested in exploring a partnership with CENTRO may complete the Partnership Inquiry Form.
CENTRO provides students with opportunities to deepen their knowledge of Puerto Rican history, culture, and contemporary issues through campus outreach, presentations, events, educational resources, and other forms of engagement.
