I paint realist art using oils, acrylic, watercolor and pencils. My subjects are generally contemporary images in the every day life of a Puerto Rican/Nuyorican.
Whether it's a still life, portrait, or landscape; I try to select subject matter that stirs an emotion, a memory, or a sense of pride for the Puerto Rican/Nuyorican viewer; and a source of education for others. I believe I succeed in doing that.

Sara Morales is a New York City born artist of Puerto Rican heritage. Her life experiences from her time in El Barrio, the South Bronx, and La Isla del Encanto have shaped much of her work. Her life-long love affair with art began at a very early age; winning an art scholarship while in grade school. She would later graduate from the High School of Art and Design. She expanded her palate with additional training at Hostos Community College, the 92nd Street Y, and the Bronx River Art Center.

Much of Sara's work chronicles the humanity of her family's traditions. Currently, Sara continues to apply her medium as her journey into her cultural self takes her to different times and places. Her goal is to educate the world about the beauty of her unique cultures.

In 2014, she joined creative forces with fellow Nuyorican artist Vivian Lipman Denis and co-founded Saviana Arts, LLC; where they put to canvas the culture of their Puerto Rican and Nuyorican heritage. Their work is offered through their website www.SavianaArts.com, and on Etsy.

Sara is a member of The Puerto Rican Institute for the Development of the Arts (PRIDA), and has gained a wealth of information from her colleagues at PRIDA.
