Vazquez's one-man-show titled "This Side Story" is about our steep, but glorious story. In the monologue, the protagonist encounters the story about different Puerto Rican historical figures of la diaspora in different times and exposes their contributions: Abolitionists, activists against racism, protests, gentrification, suffragettes who advanced women’s rights, and pioneers of gay movement. All of this and more: "The struggle to keep our cultural roots alive, our puertorriqueňidad. Soy Boricua! This Side Story" seeks to entertain, amaze, educate and inspire the old and new generations and unite us. Vazquez uses CENTRO resources to support and inform his writing and staging of the piece.
