Chayanne Marcano

Chayanne Marcano is a writer and researcher born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She is the co-editor, with Vanessa K. Valdés, of the forthcoming Black Puerto Rican Studies. Her practice sits at the threshold of human and spirit, attending to the radiant subtleties and unruly depths of artistic production across the African diaspora. As an art worker, she has organized and contributed to exhibitions and programming at Abrons Arts Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Weeksville Heritage Center, the Studio Museum in Harlem, Visual AIDS, the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum, El Museo del Barrio, and the Bronx Museum of the Arts.
