Art is my way of freedom and the key to my own self. My painting is the mirror that teaches me how to transmute pain into legacy and meaning. The work serves me as the map and compass that keeps me on the right path. Art has never made me feel that I'm lost and that’s enough for me.

José Angel Báez Christopher born in April 21, 1993 in the island of Puerto Rico. My practice is based on abstract and figurative art that led me to my Caribbean and afro latino inheritance. I also include to my practice film, music and others.

Impressionist style painting with heavy paint application. Main colors are orange, green, blue, and white. There is one segmented orange rectangle in the upper right corner.
