Centro Library

Library

The Evelina López Antonetty Research Collection, also known as the Centro Library, is one of the largest libraries in the United States devoted to the Puerto Rican Diaspora.

Centro Library holds and provides access to over 25,000 titles of books, 2,500 dissertations and masters theses, over 200 titles of historical newspapers and periodicals on 3,700 reels of microfilm, 600 audio recordings, and over 500 videos and DVD’s containing information by and about Puerto Ricans.

Our holdings are acquired in English and Spanish and in all areas of the humanities, the social sciences and the arts.  A major strength of the library is its works on the history of Puerto Ricans in the United States, particularly in New York and the Northeast region. The library, although dedicated to the Puerto Rican experience, also acquires selected materials related to other Latinos communities in the United States.

With the exception of our film collection, our materials are non-circulating to all users.

Please refer to our access policy and schedule before visiting our library.
