Laura Ortiz

(she/her) Laura is a Puerto Rican senior film and history student at Hunter College and a multidisciplinary artist based in NY and PR. As a short-form content creator for CENTRO, she brings a wealth of experience in video production, photography, and storytelling. Her work at CENTRO is informed by her hands-on experience in the film industry, including assisting on Eddie Martinez’s 2023 documentary, The Man and the Storm, and producing numerous segments for CUNY TV’s Emmy-nominated shows Latinas, Urban U, and City Cinematheque among others. She is skilled in various artistic mediums such as video, photography, painting, and beadwork, all of which reflect a deep connection to her Puerto Rican heritage. Through her role at CENTRO, she hopes to create impactful content that celebrates and preserves cultural narratives.
