On Friday, October 21st, 2022, Diana Boss Bastides, Nilda Lopez, Alice Fabela, and Katrina Gallegosthe of the Smithsonian Latino Museum Studies Program visited the CENTRO Library and Archives. During the visit, we provided a tour of our facilities and shared the resources we make available to the patrons of our Library & Archives, including a viewing of the Pura Belpré puppets. The tour concluded with a dynamic brainstorming session on the different systems CENTRO and the Smithsonian use and how we engage with the public through events and digital resources that help us reach people all over the world. We also discussed how our respective collections complement each other and how privileged we are to be part of these NYC institutions.
