Join CENTRO on October 30th for a Cafecito Con…Professor Rudy Guevarra, author of Aloha Compadre: Latinxs in Hawaiʻi, and Delia Fernandez about the first book to examine the collective history and contemporary experiences of the Latinx population of Hawaiʻi. Since the early 1830s, the Latinx community continues to help shape Hawaiʻi’s history, yet their contributions are often overlooked. Latinxs have been a part of the cultural landscape of Hawaiʻi prior to annexation, territorial status, and statehood in 1959. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the many Latinx diasporas in Hawai’i!
