New York City Council Redistricting Dashboard

The New York City Redistricting Dashboard offers population data to the block-level, aggregated to the city council district level. The population data are derived from the Redistricting File (P.L. 94-171) prepared by the U.S. Census Bureau based on the results of the 2020 decennial census. In addition to population data deriving from the decennial census, the dashboard displays socio-demographic information on median household income, language proficiency and a breakdown of Hispanic ethnicity by specific national origin at the tract-level, also aggregated to the city council district level. These additional data derive not from the 2020 decennial census count since to date the U.S. Census Bureau has not publicly released this level of detail. Instead, the data used to produce these figures derive from five-year estimates from American Community Survey (ACS), also conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, for 2020. These data average results for the years 2016 through 2020.
