Join our Directora, Yarimar Bonilla, for a conversation with two renowned activists and educators from the Puerto Rican Diaspora, Iris Morales and Dr. María Josefa Canino, to learn more about the rich history of Puerto Rican activism in New York City. We will screen clips from the documentary “Pa’lante, Siempre Pa’lante” as well as hear more about the roles activists and educators played in founding the Center for Puerto Rican Studies 50 years ago. There will be a reception from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, the talk will begin at 7:00 PM.

This event is part of the CENTRO 50th Anniversary Celebration! Join us all of 2023 in celebrating 50 years of CENTRO’s work to strengthen, diversify, and reimagine the field of Puerto Rican Studies!
