Jose Rivera was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He moved to Central Florida in 2015. During his years at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, he served as the founder and 1st president of the UCF Puerto Rican Student Association. Jose, currently serves as the Executive Director for the National Puerto Rican Student Coalition. Also, he works as an Economic Development associate at the Orlando Economic Partnership in Orlando, Florida. Jose graduated from UCF with a BS in Economics in 2019. He also had the opportunity to work for the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College (Centro) and the UCF Puerto Rico Research Hub while at UCF.
Founder and President of the Puerto Rican Student Association at UCF, work as an Undergrad Research Assistant for Fernando Rivera, PhD in Sociology, and my plan is to run for the Student Senate of the Student Government at UCF.

Analyze the Proposed Budget of Puerto Rico for Fiscal Year 2017-2018. Work legislation for Minimum Wage and Community Entrepreneurship. Conduct research for the development of comprehensive legislation.
