Join CENTRO and Arturo Castro Nogueras at the People’s Church in East Harlem for a live musical performance! Arturo Castro Nogueras draws on a rich cultural background that spans his diverse heritage. The son of two pianists and of Cuban, Mexican and Puerto Rican descent, the guitarist has performed extensively across Europe, Africa and the Americas. You can enjoy this free concert at the People’s Church in Harlem, formally known as the First Spanish United Methodist Church, a landmark that has been in this community for almost a hundred years and has a rich political history in the East Harlem community: occupied by the Young Lords, the Puerto Rican counterpart to the Black Panthers in the Civil Rights Movement!

Events at the People’s Church are always free and open to the public, which is why we must ensure this historical landmark stays open! Unfortunately, the church is in danger of being closed after loosing one of their biggest funders; support their go fund me and ensure this we have safe and accepting convening spaces in El Barrio! Donate here!
