i've recently come to the understanding that i am a philosopher using art to work out my philosophy... My philosophy is rooted in Hegelian contingency, resistance, and anarchy… i used to think that i chose to be an artist, but art, writing, and filmmaking chose me... As a result, i do my best to stay out of the way and allow the work to use me to make itself… i work almost completely on instinct... i respond to questions that aren’t being asked in the world and then create, only fully understanding the work and the question after it’s done…
