Contact

Tamara Cedré was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Central Florida, spending summers in Puerto Rico— where her family is from.

A lens-based artist and educator, Cedré works with documentary forms to illuminate the ecological threats facing the underserved communities she has called home. Her practice draws on archival materials to examine issues at the intersection of land, labor, migration, and identity. Cedré earned her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and has received awards and grants from the Center for Creative Citizenship, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and the California Arts Council.

She is currently a Visiting Professor at Pitzer College and lives/works along the route of the supply chain between Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
