Ketsy 'Sketzii' Ruiz, a painter, digital illustrator, & muralist, conveys her ethnic identity and culture in her art. Growing up in the Puerto Rican diaspora of the United States greatly inspires her work. As a self proclaimed "military brat" she was raised in the subculture of the nomadic Army family. Living all over the US she was constantly seeking community and found diaspora Latinx wherever she traveled to. Her art is an ode to these diasporas that often feel left out of the narrative while longing for a connection to home, longing for a connection to their culture.

Ketsy received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010. She is a Creative Pinellas Emerging Artist Grant recipient (2022) , Emerging Artist Program recipient of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts (2023), and a Hispanics in Philanthropy Líderes fellow (2022). Ketsy has exhibited in several group shows throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough County, FL and is a Resident Artist and Mover at the non-profit organization Mi Gente Mi Pueblo based in the Greater Tampa Bay area. Her fine art lives in private collections throughout the U.S and has private commissioned murals in Florida and Hatillo, Puerto Rico. Ketsy paints under the name "Sketzii" and continues to build on her body of work in St. Pete, Florida.

Painting of the island of Puerto Rico from a horizon perspective. The illustration includes many monuments across the island and two planes (one landing and one taking off). Underneath the water level, people hold up the island as it is cracking under the surface.
