Hatuey Ramos-Fermín is a multidisciplinary artist who often works with collaborators to explore the built environment, public spaces, and the stories that shape their communities creating participatory and educational experiences, publications, print media, exhibitions, and events.

Hatuey Ramos-Fermín is an artist. He is the Creative Director of Arts and Education at THE POINT CDC. Hatuey was artist-in-residence from 2022 to 2024 at THE POINT CDC and Naturally Occurring Cultural Districts New York. He has organized projects at sites ranging from small businesses and community centers to churches, streets, galleries, and museums. He has worked at the Center for Urban Pedagogy, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, and The Laundromat Project among other institutions. He has participated in the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Shift Residency and The Laundromat Project’s Create Change Artist Residency. He is also a recipient of Creatives Rebuild New York’s Artist Employment Program grant.

"In the installation, there are books about contemporary and past movements such as Occupy Wall Street and the Young Lords. The “office” includes a computer displaying a social media hashtag aggregator to contemporary issues such as #blacklivesmatter and a radio playing live WBAI programming in the background. In addition, the “office” includes a table map of New York City where visitors can map sites of struggle and FBI files on the Young Lords and Puerto Rican independence movements." - Hatuey Ramos-Fermín
