Dr. Yeongju Lee

Yeongju Lee is a South Korean scholar working at the intersection of Latinx Studies and Transpacific Studies through the framework of U.S. militarism as relational dynamics. Lee is currently developing the first book-length study to examine how the Korean War and its aftermath have shaped entangled formations of history, culture, and political vision, focusing on Puerto Rican, Mexican American, and South Korean cultural productions. Before joining Centro, Lee was a postdoctoral fellow in Spanish and Latin American Cultural Studies at Smith College, where she taught Asia-Latin/x American cultural connections and Caribbean literature.
