Carlos Rivera Fernandez is a Puerto Rican filmmaker and anthropologist. He holds an MA in visual anthropology from the University of Manchester (2023) and a BS in anthropology from Florida State University (2021). Operating within the realms of both fiction and documentary, he has done film and ethnographic work in the Caribbean, Europe, North Africa, the South Caucasus, and his home state of Florida. His award-winning filmography, produced under the Películas Viejas Productions label, has premiered across the international film festival circuit and has been featured on Amazon Prime Video. As Media Producer at CENTRO PR, Carlos is responsible for overseeing the production of the Diasporican Arts in Motion project, a video series profiling various Puerto Rican artists living in the diaspora.
