Join CENTRO Journal Editor, Gustavo Quintero and Professor Ruth Santiago as we break down the Spring 2023 CENTRO Journal – Centering Environmental, Ecological, Climate, and Energy Justice in Puerto Rico’s Social Justice Practice. This volume brings together articles at the intersection of environmental, ecological, climate, energy, and social justice in Puerto Rico and among Puerto Rican communities. In the archipelago, environmental concerns have been a site of struggle for, and often are co-constitutive of, wider social problems, processes, and possibilities. Demands for environmental and social justice are inextricably connected, and cannot be readily understood, studied, and acted on in isolation from one another. Together, the articles in this volume contribute to the growing literature on critical Puerto Rican environmental, ecological, climate, and energy justice studies and their entwinements with other social justice concerns.
