Library Manager Senior Archivist

The Center for Puerto Rican Studies (Centro) is a research center dedicated to the study and interpretation of the Puerto Rican experience in the United States. Centro is the primary repository of archival and library materials dedicated to stateside Puerto Ricans. Centro is committed to facilitating research projects useful to those in community organizations, public policy, and academia.

Reporting to the Archives Officer, specifically, duties include: The Senior Archivist provides thought leadership and promotes innovation in the management, access and storage of archival holdings.Will drive result focused solutions and develop strategies to resolve complex problems, balancing customer needs and organizational priorities.• Will actively contribute to the development of organizational and staff capability and contribute to broader information management work within Centro, Hunter College and CUNY and the broader historical preservation sector......<more>

*Administrative Assistant: Center for Puerto Rican Studies/Brookdale Center for Healthy Aginh (*This is a full-time equivalent position)

The Administrative Assistant (AA) serves as a primary point of contact on all matters pertaining to the Center for Puerto Rican Studies and the Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging which share offices in the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. The AA provides administrative support to both center directors and serves as the receptionist for both centers providing professional service to all who enter. The ideal candidate values the mission of both Centers and is a thoughtful, proactive, and gracious communicator with all staff and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of college or associate degree, or equivalent experience. Direct experience in an administrative support role, preferably for senior management, in a higher education or nonprofit environment. Associate Journal Editor for the CENTRO Journal

The Center for Puerto Rican seeks to hire an Associate Journal Editor for the CENTRO Journal. The Journal is the leading peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the field of Puerto Rican Studies. The journal publishes the latest work from scholars in a wide range of academic traditions, in order to enhance and advance the field of Puerto Rican Studies.

Responsibilities: Working on the creation of a new website and digital platform for the journal, in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief, editorial interns, and the technology team at CENTRO. Working to increase the journal’s social media presence in collaboration with the Editor- in-Chief, editorial interns, and CENTRO communications team. Curating special projects in collaboration with the editor-in-chief and editorial board Coordinating special issues with guest editors and the Editor-in-Chief.
