Library Manager Senior Archivist

The Center for Puerto Rican Studies (Centro) is a research center dedicated to the study and interpretation of the Puerto Rican experience in the United States. Centro is the primary repository of archival and library materials dedicated to stateside Puerto Ricans. Centro is committed to facilitating research projects useful to those in community organizations, public policy, and academia.

Research Associate

Area of expertise is open, but we particularly encourage applications from scholars focused on issues of racialization, migration, imperial histories, (de)coloniality, critical geographies, public health, social movements, social exclusion, and informal economies. Scholars who can expand the current strengths of the center through humanistic/qualitative approaches, queer/feminist/intersectional methodologies, community-engaged research and/or public humanities are particularly encouraged to apply.

Associate Director for Arts & Culture

The Associate Director for Arts and Culture will play a key role in developing and fundraising for Arts & Culture Programming and launching the new Center for Cultural Research. Through its programmatic initiatives, the Center for Cultural Research seeks to historicize, contextualize, incentivize, and showcase the socio-cultural contributions of Puerto Rico and its diaspora, foster the research use of CENTRO’s arts and culture collections, and strengthen connections with the Puerto Rican artistic community.

The Associate Director performs the following: Working with Centro’s Director to develop programming initiatives and fellowship opportunities in the realms of arts and culture. Project Archivist

Assignments & Supervision: Primary assignment would be to process recently acquired collections, creation of detailed inventories, transfer of materials to archival boxes, and implementation of preservation protocols.
