The Administrative Assistant (AA) serves as a primary point of contact on all matters pertaining to the Center for Puerto Rican Studies and the Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging which share offices in the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. The AA provides administrative support to both center directors and serves as the receptionist for both centers providing professional service to all who enter. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of college or associate degree, or equivalent experience. The Center for Puerto Rican seeks to hire an Associate Journal Editor for the CENTRO Journal. The Journal is the leading peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the field of Puerto Rican Studies. The journal publishes the latest work from scholars in a wide range of academic traditions, in order to enhance and advance the field of Puerto Rican Studies.
Responsibilities: Working on the creation of a new website and digital platform for the journal, in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief, editorial interns, and the technology team at CENTRO. Working to increase the journal’s social media presence in collaboration with the Editor- in-Chief, editorial interns, and CENTRO communications team. Curating special projects in collaboration with the editor-in-chief and editorial board Coordinating special issues with guest editors and the Editor-in-Chief.
