Centro researcher to present at Conversaciones Necesarias: Racismo, comunidad y activismo en Puerto Rico

 

 

The Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Undergraduate Learning (CRiiAS) at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras has invited Centro researcher, Dr. Carlos Vargas-Ramos, to present and participate in its upcoming Conversaciones necesarias: Racismo, comunidad y activismo en Puerto Rico to be held virtually on Thursday, September 24 at 10am (AST).

This is the second iteration in a series of conversations that seek to promote frank discussions on racial equity and inclusion as it affects broad segments of Puerto Rican society. Carlos will speak on the impact of race on voting and other forms of political participation in Puerto Rico. Joining him on the panel will be Dr. Barbara I. Abadía-Rexach (San Francisco State University) and Dr. Hilda Lloréns (University of Rhode Island).
