Dyanis is a creative entrepreneur and design consultant working at the intersection of culture, creativity and commerce. She splits her time between New York and San Juan, Puerto Rico where she is a frequent speaker and workshop facilitator on the topics of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dyanis is a founding member, and serves as Co-Director, of the Puerto Rico Creative Economy Initiative (www.prcei.org) working since 2011 to build awareness around the importance of creative and cultural industries as keys to economic development for the country via research, education and strategic alliances with the public and private sectors. Most recently in New York City, she is the Co-Founder of ChicaPReneurs, a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration that brings together creative and cultural innovators from Puerto Rico living abroad to stimulate the production.
Dyanis holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communications from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) in Design Management from Pratt Institute, New York, where she now serves as visiting professor for the Graduate Program of Arts, Cultural and Design Management. Her thesis, “Designing Sustainability into Creative Economies” led to the creation of a new methodology for creative economy development that accounts for social, cultural and environmental factors, together with economic wellbeing.
