Graciela Rivera (1921-2011) was the first Puerto Rican to sing a lead role at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1951. The photograph by taken by Adál Maldonado for the Avant Garde Mambo Society exhibit at Tweed Gallery in New York City.
