Gun permits complaints: PRMA President Higinio Reyes called for a meeting on July 19, 1967 to address the problems merchants were having with the police department, which was labeled as the city agency that gave merchants the hardest time. A major topic of discussion was how members felt that liquor store owners were favored by the police in granting gun license permission vis-a-vis merchants association members.
