Justo A. Martí Photographic Collection, 1948-1985

Bodegas became an example on how both Hispanic and American cultures were blending in New York City. This bodega’s English and Spanish signs on each side of the corner store is an example of this process. The United Nations /Las Naciones Unidas grocery also promoted unity among the increasing Hispanic demographic changes in New York City. (Retouched photograph for the Bodega exhibit.)
