Social gathering including Puerto Rican community activist Laura Santiago (fourth from left wearing gloves), New York, NY. At second from right is the famed cuatrista Ladislao Martinez Otero "El Maestro Ladi". Second from left is jibaro singer German Rosario. The pava hat, which read "Puerto Rico Canta," was characteristic of Puerto Rican sugar cane farmers who wore such hats as protection from the sun.
