CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Cortes stated that in Seminole Co. Florida, he has not seen real discrimination, but he has seen ignorance. He views his job as not judging but educating people about Puerto Ricans, Hispanics, and immigrants. He discusses his avid participation in several non-profit community activities that help those in need and support families.
