Gilberto Gerena Valentin Papers, 1918-2014

Gilberto Gerena Valentín and his friend Dr. Ricardo Alegria (1921-2011) who was a scholar,  cultural anthropologist and administrator. He was appointed as first director of the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture in San Juan in 1955. He has been called the "Father of Modern Puerto Rican Archaeology."
