CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Méndez explains how his interest for the New York & Porto Rico Steamship Co. collection started because he was in the Navy. He researched how the first Puerto Ricans migrated to the United States via steamship lines. He later studied Puerto Rican history in college, and began curating his historical collections.
