Interview with Juan Sanchez on Dec 14, 2015, Segment 3, Part 2

CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Sanchez talks about his experience documenting, through photographs, the Puerto Rican community of Brooklyn and other parts of New York between 1973 and 1989. He explains that this documentation was a kind of research for him that encompassed photographing the daily life of the community, public demonstrations and the murals painted on the streets. Sanchez emphasizes the influence that the organization En Foco and other independent Puerto Rican photographers had on his photography.
