Interview with Juan Sanchez on Dec 21, 2015, Segment 6, Part 1

CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Sanchez discusses his personal identity struggles until he discovered and accepted who he was. While dealing with issues of language, questions about his skin color and combining his Puerto Rican and American traditions he used the Nuyorican and the Puerto Rican independence Movements to find out who he was. Sanchez explains that through his art (painting, drawing and photographing) he explored all his questions of identity and made them available for the audience to explore them as well.
