Sanchez describes the painting “Para Angel de Vieques”, which honors the sacrifice of the activist Angel Rodriguez Cristobal. Rodriguez Cristobal was member of the Puerto Rican independence movement and he was against the United States’ presence in Vieques. For this fight, he was imprisoned and supposedly assassinated.
