Interview with Gilda Mirós on November 17, 2016, Segment 3, Part 3

CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Mirós explains how she managed the four hour radio show that she produced and hosted for WADO. She started by reaching out to professionals and community based organizations to integrate them as guests of the program. The broadcaster refers to her initial challenges, like not having any technical assistance to run the show, however, later on the station assigned her an engineer and an assistant. The format of her show was divided in five sections: an initial reflection, community, medicine, news and show business. She emphasizes that for the show business section she introduced a new approach which was to interview personalities from all Latin American, she would travel or contact them by phone.
