Interview with Gilda Mirós on November 17, 2016, Segment 4, Part 1

CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Mirós talks about the plays in which she participated, both in English and Spanish, in New York and Los Angeles and the production of a long play called “Poetisas de Hispanoamerica” in which she read poems by famous female authors while accompanied by a guitarist. She also discusses her first break-up with WADO, which led her to abandon the radio show for several weeks; the station offered her the job back but under new conditions which she accepted. The broadcaster then received another offer from a radio station in Florida, she accepted and her show was re-named “Amorosamente.” In 1986 Mirós produced the 65th Anniversary celebration of La Sonora Matancera at Carnegie Hall, New York.
