New York Giants team players including "Willie" Mays, pitcher Ruben Gomez Colon and Augusto de Jesus at the Polo Grounds field with scout manager Louis Cabaret, Sr., New York, NY. Puerto Rican baseball players from different teams often met with Cabaret at the Polo Grounds. Ruben Gomez Colon, "El Divino Loco" ("The Divine Madman"), was a Major League Baseball starting pitcher, and was also the first Puerto Rican to pitch in a World Series game. Written on the back of photograph: "Fotos de practicas y aceptacion en el Polo Grounds de los Gigantes de Nueva York, donde escogian muchos jugadores puertorriquenos de diferentes equipos y eran llevados por el scout manager del Louis Cabaret sr. Willie Mays, Ruben Gomez, Augusto de Jesus." ("Photos of practice and success at the New York Giants' Polo Grounds, where many Puerto Rican players from different teams were selected by scout manager Louis Cabaret Sr.")
