CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Vlasto refers to the “Bilingual Courts Act” that Badillo introduced to Congress in 1975, which formally established access to free interpretive services in the courts. He recalls the importance Badillo placed on bilingual education because the politician always thought that "it worked."
