Interview with Edgar Colon Hernandez on March 21 2016, Segment 6

CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Colon Hernandez talks about his education. He assisted to the elementary school Consuelo Escalona which was a private institution meant to educate the children of American business men in Puerto Rico. He completed his first two years of high school there and then transferred to the Escuela Libre de Musica. While in the Escuela Libre, Colon Hernandez entered in the Conservatory of Music where he took a few courses and then he entered in the University of Puerto Rico to study pre-med. However, a few semesters later he discovered that music was his real passion; he moved to New York to study musicology which he did at Hunter College.
