CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

González speaks in depth about a previous topic: the importance of continuity, tradition, and culture, and the need to pass it on. He grounds his discussion in what he considers unique aspects of the Puerto Rican experience. He approaches the topic from personal, communal, political, and economic angles. He tackles such issues as acculturation versus assimilation, the Spanish-American war, Puerto Rico’s status as a territory—or colony—of the United States, and the 2016 economic crisis in Puerto Rico.
