Oral history interview with Gonzalo Mazzini (director) and Rosa Emmanuelli Gutierrez (producer) 00:00:00 Emmanuelli was born in Puerto Rico and her partner Mazzini was born in Mexico. They visited Puerto Rico and saw that next to the Puerto Rican flag there was the United States flag. 00:15:00 Emmanuelli and Mazzini started researching the reasons for these two flags flying together. 00:24:00 A decision was taken to create a 90 minute video condensing 117 years of Puerto Rican history and Jurakán was born. 00:35:00 Colonialism, racism, social problems and political situations are addressed by several key Puerto Rican leaders.
