CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Dr. Falú specifies why she chose East Harlem/El Barrio to establish her Foundation. The scholar describes the needs that she identified in the Latino community living in the area such as high levels of unemployment and high criminal rates, but mainly she noticed that Puerto Ricans individuals wanted to find jobs but they lacked the skills. Through computer and educational training the Foundation addressed this issue. She also explains her decision to include African history and heritage in the curriculum of the programs that target children and adolescents.
