CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Blackburn-Moreno had heard of Aspira after leaving Puerto Rico to study and teach in New York. Aspira was sponsoring or co-sponsoring many events and organizations at the time. What he didn't know was that Aspira already existed in Puerto Rico, in Carolina, but was so small that nobody knew about it.
