Pedro "Piquito" Marcano Papers, 1920-1972

A younger Piquito Marcano (far left) captured with other members of Canario's band. Marcano was initially a member of the group prior to launching his own ensemble. In center is baritone vocalist, Fausto Delgado. On the far right is Manuel "Canario" Jimenez, whose ensemble was the first to record "Lamento Borincano" by Rafael Hernandez. Seated with the guitar is Eladio "Yayo" or "Yayito" Maldonado.
