CENTRO: 100 Puerto Ricans Oral History Project, 2013-

Sáenz Ryan describes her childhood in Brooklyn, where her parents owned a four story building in a multi-cultural neighborhood. In Staten Island, Sáenz Ryan experienced a few incidents of discrimination and she mentions that it was fear of the unknown, and once neighbors started getting to know them, the friction stopped.
