Avanzada '84, Registrate y Vota / Register and Vote

Offices of the Government of Puerto Rico in the United States (OGPRUS) Records, 1930s-1993

Avanzada was a voter registration campaign to encourage Latinos to register and vote in elections. Political representation was critical for New York City's Spanish-speaking community. As citizens, Puerto Ricans could vote, but new Latino immigrants could not.
