In her first interview session, entrepreneur Sol Flores discusses how she became involved in the non-profit sector through the organization La Casa Norte, which tackles the issue of homelessness in the city of Chicago. She emphasizes how working in that institution for over 13 years has been a turning point in her career and personal life. Flores also talks extensively about the process of migration and settling of her family from Puerto Rico to the States. She describes her early life in Wicker Park, Chicago, and relating experiences in church, magnet schools. and attending the same high school as her uncle, Carlos Flores.
