Andrade has been an active participant in Hispanic labor organizations and held various positions in the Hispanic Labor Committee and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement. A life-long activist and leader in the labor movement, Andrade first worked as an organizer in Miami and New York after arriving from El Salvador. She was the director of the Department of Education for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU), where she was responsible for worker education programs. The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, event programs, invitations, flyers and pamphlets, mainly about activities in the New York metropolitan area. Her collection is especially rich in photographs of women in union activities.
